HOW FAR DO YOU RUN?

There is no set distance, but typically the run course will be five to six miles.  Usually, there are shorter and longer options offered as well.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU RUN?

We run every Saturday morning, regardless of rain, shine, sleet or heat.  Our runs begin at 7:30 a.m. in the Spring and Summer, and start at 8 a.m. in the Fall and Winter.

WHAT IF I WANT TO RUN IN A GROUP MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK?

The Partners have a few informal running collectives that will run at various times during the week.  Once you come to our Saturday runs, you'll be able to find out more about about weekday run opportunities.

WHERE ARE THE RUNS?

Each Saturday run is hosted by an SFRP member, at the location of their choosing.  The location is not usually announced until the week of the run.  Contact the Run Coordinator  (678) 744-SFRP for run location information.  Also, visit the page the Events page to view some of our common running spots.

HOW FAST DO I HAVE TO BE TO RUN WITH YOU?

We have a diverse group of runners: from the jack rabbits who are highly competitive to the cocktail crowd who are comfortable moving at a nice leisurely pace.  There is no pace requirement to run with us,  as we also have walkers that join us on Saturday morning.

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?

We have a membership process that includes running with us over a period of time.  We encourage any one who is interested in the Partners to come out to run with us and get to know us better, so that you feel confident that the Partners is the right running club for you.

ARE WALKERS WELCOME?

Yes.  We have Partners who've transitioned from running to walking, and new members who've gone from walking to running.

DO YOU RUN AS A TEAM?

Yes, we have several races on our calendar that we compete in as a group.

WHAT IS THE SICKLE CELL 7K?

The Partners created the Sickle Cell Road Race (SCRR) to raise money for the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia.  The funds go to support Camp New Hope, a summer camp for children with sickle cell anemia.  In existence for over 30 years, the SCRR has become a community institution which has grown to include a 7k road race, a 4k walk, and a Tot Trot.  For more information visit the 7k race page.

DO YOU PROVIDE RACE MANAGEMENT SERVICES?

Yes. We can assist local community groups with putting on their own road races.  Please contact the General Coordinator for more information (678) 744-SFRP.

CAN YOU HELP ME TRAIN FOR A ROAD RACE?

Absolutely.  Collectively, the SFRP has run over a thousand road races.  While we do not provide formal coaching services, our members know what to do and what not to do, and have experience with numerous  training methods to get you ready for your next road race, whether its a 5k or a marathon.  Additionally, our group has experience with duathlons and triathlons.
